Bio
Over the past two decades, photographer Michael Muller’s images have regularly landed on the pages of Vanity Fair, Rolling Stone, The New York Times, Interview, Elle, Harper’s Bazaar, Flaunt and Time. A tireless chronicler of popular culture, Muller captures his subjects with a contagious mixture of spontaneity and formal grace. Sometimes black, white and grainy, at other times supersaturated to the point of glistening, blazing across the frame or staged and timeless, Muller has built a deep and diverse body of work by refusing to anchor his oeuvre to a single signature look, insisting instead on getting the shot that speaks most fully to the essence of the subject at hand and the possibilities of the moment. Michael’s images continue to be forged through the lens, both on the edge and on the job, guided not just by one man’s obsessions, appetites and passions, but also by his desire to fully realize himself as a visual craftsman, adventurer, husband, father and artist.
