The ideal person to call for beers, or what he called “12 ounce curls,” Greg was Matuse’s first fit model and a Brooks Institute grad (where he became best friends with Matuse DP, Ian O’Roarty). Greg could make anything sexy with the lens—or as he’d say “nice and kinky.” Jokes aside, and Greg had a few, the Oahu native was an irreplaceable persona with one of the most unique vocab’s this side of the Oxford Dictionary. Shoes? Greg said “zips.” Nice people? Greg called them “honeybears.” Lose your temper? He’d say: “don’t get all pepper-jacked!” Like he captured the world on camera, Greg was on point when describing life with his words. We still get misty eyed when thinking about this great loss. But when remembering the big, bright, shining light that was Greg, we can’t help but smile wide.
