A friend to many throughout the community, Hans Hagen is a Laguna beach local and former competitive surfer. When he’s not drawing lines on myriad shapes near Thalia Street, Hans is charting his next sojourn to one of the world’s exotic surf locales. Hans’ travels include the Spice Islands and Greater Indonesia, the Philippines, the Andaman Islands in India, New Caldonia—and the worthwhile spots across Europe. Along the way, he’s discovered an under-the-radar island off the African Coast. To document some of his globetrotting, Hans helped write, produce, musically supervise (and surf-in, obviously) an all-HD surf/travel flick called, Lost Prophets-Search For The Collective: (http://www.lostprophetsthefilm.com/). Featuring Hans’ pals like Dave Rastovich, Reef McIntosh and Matuse Family Member, Chris Del Moro, the film is an adventure documentary that follows nine surfers in different aspects of life.
