The Short Sleeve Sophia Jacket is the first Matuse jacket designed specifically for junior & petite women. The word Sophia is Greek for “wisdom, knowledge or skill.” Its etymology traces to spiritual or inspirational forces. So basically the Sophia’s a Geoprene thinking jacket that keeps you warm.

    2. This item is cut for juniors & petites. The arms and bodice fit more snug than the average jacket. When looking at the Women's Top Size Scale subtract approx. 10 lbs. (Size scale located in the sub-navigation to the right).

    3. The hour glass chest panel not only provides a naturally contoured fit on the bodice but also adds an extra bit of curvy flow to your already stylish lines on the wave.

  3. HYDRASILK NYLON (WON’T SNAG; DOESN’T SUCK; BUTTER SOFT)

    4. Silky smooth, hydrophibic (i.e. rejects H2O) material that’s your windbreaker in the water. Makes you feel all buttery inside.

  4. GEOPRENE STRATEGIC PANELING

    5. Super-low modulus, max-flex Geoprene that keeps the body’s thermostatic line balanced (i.e. you don’t get hot and tired from fighting your suit or cold and bitter from that oil-based neoprene).

    6. The mini back-zip maximizes your ease-of-entry while minimizing water-entry.

Technology in this Ichiban Product

  • Geoprene is derived from 99.7% pure limestone. It’s warmer (98% water impermeable compared to the standard 69%), lighter and lasts longer than oil-based neoprene. It’s also kinder to Mother Nature since it wastes less biomass and comes from a sustainable resource—not petroleum. Geoprene is exclusive to Yamamoto Corporation and Matuse, Inc.
