NEPTUNE BOARDSHORT
The shorts are great for swimming and gym training. Even did a few track workouts in them since they’re so flexible. Currently my go to shorts for everything. The customer service team was also super awesome about handling a USPS issue. Highly recommend this product!
Best trunks ever
Great board short. Great fit, really comfortable and durable with just the right amount of stretch
The waistband continues to have the usual Ichiban (best or #1) in kana inside the waistband, which continues to be the black magic fabric that’s become popular with boardshort brands to keep the shorts from slipping. Waist sizing is about typical for the larger board short brands, running somewhat larger than some trouser brands. The new pair is sized slightly smaller than my older bright orange made-in-California pair in the same size. The older one’s a very good fit now, the new one should be good with a loss of 10 pounds or so.
The new pair is made in P.R.C, 中国. It has a tie system different from the old, with 3 shoelace holes on each side rather than two on one, four on the other. Both allow for tightening, like for an energetic trip without much food.
Pocket has moved from side to back and has acquired a key loop (previously present on black but not orange), while becoming a bit smaller.
The hemline is welded, other seams are sewn, typical for board shorts but not flat on the inside as the older Neptunes were. The current model has side seams, the older model doesn't. The exterior of the shorts has the ䷋ hexagram, as usual but MATUSE has gone, so it's a bit sneakier than the older version.
Some object to stretch board shorts in general, thinking nonstretch fabric is more likely to stay on one’s body. I think the common slipping waistband problem has been solved. Photo is older short at right, current model at left
