The Tumo is named after the Buddhist meditation Technique where naked Monks sit in the snow, underneath a wet blanket, and dry-it-out with their own body heat. So jump into the coldest environments. The Tumo hooded wetsuit has you covered even if you don't meditate.

HYDRASILK: Silky smooth, hydrophobic ( i.e. rejects H2O ) material that's your windbreaker in the water. Makes you feel all buttery inside.

SATIN SEAL TAPE: A durable yet flexible SCS tape that provides extra seam durability that is soft and comfortable to your skin. Ichiban infused.

This suit is Next Level and a must have if you like feeling buttery soft and toasty when it's super cold! Matuse are the best suits out there! They last a very long time and are super quality!

Matuse Wetsuits Tumo

I own a wide range of Matuse wetsuits for all conditions from summer through too winter conditions.I have Dante ,Tumo,& Hoplites and are all excellent models the thing I like most about Matuse is the superior body fit they just feel like a extra layer of skin they don’t loose there memory like other brands .Their seals are unreal & keep you water tight & also have longevity.I have my first hoplite long arm spring suit I bought 2012 & still wear it .I have since a Dante & new hoplite in this style & brilliant too.I have spring suits, short Arm steamers ,Full Steamers & wetsuit tops & are brilliant as well .That’s why I purchased the 4/3 mm Tumo hooded steamer all about comfort, warmth & flexibility to surf my best at 55 it all helps.I am big believer you pay for what you get & these Wetsuits are the best thanks Matuse Mark.

Nice

I like the Tumo series; good fit, good flex and range, warm. Having a hood is new to me and it's game-changer. Not having that cold blast of water on your head makes winter waves is amazing. good suit.

MT Tumo fit

Nice material, poor , uncomfortable fit
The torso is too long, and the chest zipper is either in the wrong spot or too wide and constantly rubs
when you are paddling. Takes the fun out of surfing

Good quality suit, bit pricey ( if not for vintage)

Bought this suit on vintage, I would never have bought one for full price, just can’t justify spending that much.

I’ve been putting this suit to the test. Multiple 6+ hour sessions back to back days, used for multiple sessions in the same day. Been surfing in cold water (54-56f) and have had some marathon paddling sessions in it.

First off, the suit is extremely warm, makes the California winter feel like Hawaii. So in regards to warmth this suit is second to none.

The suit has stayed relatively flexible, I take extremely good care of my suits, hoping to extend their lifespan, and overall the suit has stayed pretty flexible being a 4/3 and all. I have noticed that in the armpit area the seams agitate my skin after a few hours in the water. So I usually end up with a good rash after a marathon session, the seams in the armpit, while effective for keeping water out are a bit bulky.

I’ve noticed that the outside seams (stitching) are starting to fray a bit, mostly around the mid thigh section, I am a little concerned with how they will hold up over time, I’ve only been wearing this suit for 5 months or so. Only time will tell. It would be nice to see some reinforcements on the stitching in newer designs.

The overall design of the suit is very effective, the head flap does a great job of keeping water out when I’m not wearing the hood. The zipper quality is also top notch. I will add that the key pouch in the leg is slight small, would be nice to see that a tad bigger and with a more sturdy zipper. So far I’ve had no issues with my key getting loose.

Overall it’s a great suit, one of the better suits I’ve owned, I feel that If you’re not getting a vintage deal these suits aren’t worth the money though, at the end of the day a wetsuit is a wetsuit. That being said if you have the money I would recommend this suit.
