I received my Dojo open water wetsuit in a very timely manner and unfortunately I ordered a men’s small instead of a women’s small. I emailed Alex and he was so helpful in exchanging for a women’s size 2 and got it out promptly. However this size 2 runs extremely small for my mature 5’2” weight 101 fit 70 year old body so I decided to drive to Matuse and try on a few sizes to avoid another return. Alex was out today so Tom helped me. Tom was so nice, friendly and helpful today and he said well you could do the 4S but thought since I’m
not competing I would be happier with the 6s and ease getting it on and off. Plus I’m a little down in weight and this gives me room if I gain a few. This Dojo Open Water wetsuit is the most well made comfortable wetsuit and all our men and women ocean swimmers here in North County San Diego absolutely love this suit. It will keep you warm in water 59 and above. Thanks Matuse for awesome customer service experience. I will bring you more business.
Love it
My new The Dojo Open Water suit is a backup to my original one, which has been a fine fit, comfy and great with arm flex for swimming, including bodysurfing. With a lumpy old body (5’8” and 180 pounds with a 16.4” neck that really wants a 17.5”dress shirt size with slim fit), I haven't found a good fit with purveyors of wetsuits for triathlon/open water. I perhaps could work harder, but I've not had luck with fit charts. Matuse and some other surfing wetsuit purveyors do have very helpful charts, and it can pay to ask questions.
So the Dojos are the choice for swims when cool, while other more-surfing oriented wetsuits fill in for even cooler (I've started to like hooded suits to help with ear protection, sun protection, and just having a cozy head), or paddling, or warmer, when good 2mm full suits (I like Dante) or shorties work well.
This is the second time I’ve bought the DOJO
