The Artemis, our first Ichiban infused women's wetsuit from Matuse is named after the Greek goddess of the hunt known for her strength and beauty. So big ups and happy hunting to all the goddess surfers in the house.

In 2006, we were the first to introduce premium Japanese limestone rubber to the surf market from Yamamoto Corporation called Geoprene. Matuse Limestone Geoprene is a completely closed cell structure, absorbing less water (98% water impermeable) which means it's lighter in and out of the water and takes less time to dry for your next session. This innovative material is layered with titanium-alloy solution to help retain your body's warmth and has the ability to stretch 350% its size while maintaining superb elastic memory aka the flexibility you need without losing shape. The combination of these features makes Geoprene the longest lasting wetsuit you will find in the world: warmer, lighter, more flexible and kinder to Mother Nature.

  • Internal farmer john floodgate: minimizes water entry on zipper opening side

  • Satin-Seal taping: applied to the inside seams and is soft to the skin, for extra comfort, durability, and warmth.

  • 360 Degree Hydrasilk Neckline: Velcro plush is set back from the top edge of the neckline and creates a 360-degree

Ah, New Wetsuit Goodness

Had the D’Arc as my 4/3 for quite some time. It held up beautifully, but now it’s going on a trip to Mexico to a new owner via Gail, and I am delighted to have switched over to an Artemis. I don’t like that the 10 fits me better than the 8, but that’s on me, not Matuse!

Warm & Light

5’1 and 105lb. I’m a size 4 according to the size chart, but the it was super tight around my shoulders and neck, constricting my breath when put on dry. I laid the Artemis on top of my old 4/3 that fits well with inseam aligned, and you can see the Artemis has a shorter torso and the arms come down against the body more. But customer support was super helpful and exchanged a 6S for me quickly, which fits a lot better. So size up, especially if you have longer torso.

Besides sizing, the suit itself is very warm — kept me much warmer than my old 4/3 neoprene suite, even comparable to a 5/4. Went today (10/17) in water around 55F, and all my friends were wearing 5/4 or more but I was toasty in my Matuse 4/3.

It’s a bit stiff on the first surf, but I’m hopeful that it will stretch out with a handful of surfs 🤞🏼

Warm and elastic wetsuit, eccellente quality

After trying the Artemis out for a monte i have to admit the wetsuit fits me perfectly and is super stretchy for being a 4/3. Really happy with the product
