The Artemis, our first Ichiban infused women's wetsuit from Matuse is named after the Greek goddess of the hunt known for her strength and beauty. So big ups and happy hunting to all the goddess surfers in the house.

At Matuse, we strive to make products and experiences Ichiban aka the best. We design for longevity and performance and take this responsibility seriously. In 2006, we were the first to introduce premium Japanese limestone rubber to the surf market from Yamamoto Corporation called Geoprene. Matuse Limestone Geoprene is a completely closed cell structure, absorbing less water (98% water impermeable) which means it's lighter in and out of the water and takes less time to dry for your next session. This innovative material is layered with titanium-alloy solution to help retain your body's warmth and has the ability to stretch 350% its size while maintaining superb elastic memory aka the flexibility you need without losing shape. The combination of these features makes Geoprene the longest lasting wetsuit you will find in the world: warmer, lighter, more flexible and kinder to Mother Nature.

The Artemis with Geoprene allows you to focus on the right issues (like better surfing), and fuss less over the wrong ones (like being cold and uncomfortable). A premium Ichiban Matuse will get you out of bed in the morning aka more excuses to surf and less excuses not to.

What is Geoprene Technology? Learn More

  • Hydrasilk Pro: minimizes water adsorption and maintains your suit’s overall shape memory, adding to its longevity. Hydrasilk is buttery-soft and located inside and outside of your suit, aka you won't want to take it off.

  • YKK Stainless Steel Zipper: prevents salt corrosion.

  • Internal farmer john floodgate: minimizes water entry on zipper opening side

  • Satin-Seal taping: applied to the inside seams and is soft to the skin, for extra comfort, durability, and warmth.

  • Oversized Knee Pads: keep your duck diving knee pressure damage to a minimum with our oversized coverage.

  • 360 Degree Hydrasilk Neckline: Velcro plush is set back from the top edge of the neckline and creates a 360-degree

  • Easy access zippered key pouch: with elastic cord on side of knee / you don't have to take your suit off to access a key or other items stored while surfing.

warm, better fit, couple irks

Very warm, so glad I pulled the trigger because this fall was coldddd. I wasn't aware how different the material is than the D'Arc or I would've purchased sooner. The sale helped too ;). It is warmer, lighter and dries way faster. I also love the cut as it has more room for athletic shoulders. Those are the first to go in my other womens suits and then get cold after the material is finally stretched to fit. I'm still getting used to the back zip which does flush occasionally while in the water but I do like that it's easier to get on and off and the inner straps help keep the suit up while changing as I don't wear a bikini underneath. I've only worn it 5 times so far and there's already pilling on the inner chest panel which would've bummed me out if I paid full price.... Also not a fan of key pockets with zippers which seem to come on more expensive suits as an added feature but are bulky and corrode quickly. The regular flap pocket is sleeker to the look and touch and I've never had a key come out so the zipper is unnecessary. Great suit overall, light, warm and comfortable. Curious how it will compare to my Matuse 5/4.

Best wetsuit I own!

This is clearly one of the best wetsuits I’ve ever owned. Super comfortable super warm and dries really fast.

Okay

I’m not a huge fan of the back zip. Would prefer if Matuse made a front zip in the Artemis for women. On the plus side, wetsuit is soft, warm, and dries quickly.

Old product

It was not disclosed in the description that the wetsuit was made in 2015. We all know what happens to old neoprene. Unfortunately it is marked final sale so can’t even return now.

Artemis- Matuse 1st wetsuit :)

I was so excited and it definitely lives up to the hype! Comfy material and I’ve been warm (but not too hot) in the water!!! The only thing I will say is I’m 5’10” and size chart seemed to point to size 10T being best for me, but it is actually a bit big … specifically a bit long. I find extra material bunches up behind my knees which is uncomfy . Otherwise it’s great ! I love the style.
